This lovely Victorian Majolica plate is most probably English, but possibly continental, from the turn of the Century. It has a lovely botanical design with relief molded leaves and soft pink and white flowers, with gold centers, that look like Violets. It has a stippled or orange peel textured cream background and is accented with a rich, chocolate brown border. It is 9" in diameter and in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or crazing. It is marked on the back 3D, which I assume to be a mold or design number. This is a delightful piece of Victorian Majolica which would be a welcome addition to any collection. This and two other pieces, were from an Estate sale in England and have obviously been well loved and cared for.
