This gorgeous rooster wall pocket is larger than most and hand painted in shades of yellow, green and brown, with his comb and wattle in burnt orange, and a dark chocolate brown beak. His set in eye is emerald green glass which you don't find very often. He is glazed pottery and stands 8" tall, by 7 ¾" wide, and is in excellent original condition from the 1940s, and has been part of mid century collection for many years. The back has a few glaze pops and places where the glaze skipped, all original to the piece, the backs were glazed so they would hold water but were not finished to the same standard because they faced the wall so would not be seen. If you collect wall pockets or roosters, don't let this one get away from you, he is really special.
