This delightful Snack Set, sometimes called a tea and toast, is very nicely hand painted, and shows a lovely English garden. There are poppies, lupines, foxgloves, and delphiniums, in shades of pink, blue, purple and green, on a soft cream ground, signed on the base by the artist E. Derrick, 1940. It is unmarked English china, and the tray has a very attractive shape with a softly scalloped rim trimmed with gold, and so is the handle and rim of the cup. The tray measures 8 3/4" long, and 6" wide, and has an indent to hold the elegant, footed cup which is 3" tall. The condition is excellent, with nice fresh colors and no fading, but there is a little normal wear to the gold rim, which is to be expected. A lovely set that will bring you pleasure every time you use it, displays well. A lovely addition to any collection, and one you will be proud to display.
