We are pleased to offer this very desirable Well and Tree platter, perfect for your holiday entertaining. It is in the Grecian design by Thomas Till and Sons, in Burslem, Staffordshire, England in 1861. It is decorated in a lustrous bronze brown, the rim has an outer scalloped border divided from the inner border by a band of bronze and cream. The inner border is a series of contiguous arches, each containing a small tree, and is bordered with a band of dots. The platter has a well defined well and tree to catch the juices as you carve, this is framed with a bell flower border. This sturdy earthenware platter measures 20” long, 16”wide, and 2 ½” deep, and is in excellent antique condition. This lovely platter has been a family heirloom for many years, but I no longer have room for it. It has been well cared for, and held many holiday turkeys and hams.
