Majolica Pitcher Victorian Colors Nineteenth Century

This pretty Nineteenth Century Victorian Majolica Pitcher, features a design of pink Dogwood blossoms and leaves, against a turquoise green ground with striations, which looks like a board fence. The bulbous shaped base of the pitcher is in soft brown basket weave design, to match the handle. It stands 6 1/4" high, 4 1/4" wide and 5 1/2" across at the handle. It is in excellent condition for Majolica which is over 100 years old, but the inside and bottom does have crazing and stains, and there is an 1/8” flake off the glaze on the back or the rim. This is a very lovely Victorian Majolica piece from the 1800s, a worthy addition to any collection. It is not marked. This and several other pieces, were from an Estate Sale that we found on our recent buying trip up north, and have obviously been well loved and cared for. Please be sure to click on photo for enlargement and more pictures so that you can really enjoy this lovely piece.
