This lovely Antique Pottery Butter Pat is an unusual 10 sided shape in the Argyle pattern by Grindley. It has a very lovely feathery design, with good flow and a nice deep cobalt blue. The rim has a relief molded scroll design accented with hand applied gold. The mark is hard to read, but it is the Argyle design by Grindley, in Staffordshire, England, and I would date it around 1880-1900. It measures 3" across and is in excellent condition, with no damage of any kind, a really beautiful piece of Flow Blue from a large collection we purchased on our recent buying trip. Please be sure to click on photo for enlargement and more pictures so that you can really enjoy this lovely piece.
