This lovely old Blue and White Tile is transfer printed with a very attractive central design, and a quarter circle on each corner. It was found in Belgium and was part of either a wash stand or a fire surround, and still has some of the mortar on the back. It is 6" square and in good condition, except for crazing which is to be expected with pottery of this age and certainly does not detract. It is marked on the back with the letter H, I have not been able to track down this mark, but believe this to be 19th century, certainly pre -1920. The would be perfect to set into a tray or back splash, to use as a tea tile or to frame. I have 2 available.
