This pretty, vintage porcelain dinnerware set is beautifully decorated with a colorful floral pattern similar to Dresden Rose and Dresdenia. It has a white ground which showcases the multi-colored floral spray in the center of the plates with a pale cream band and smaller flowers around the inner edge of the band. The edges of the plates are gold trimmed. The cups have the floral spray on the inside of the bowl and are gold trimmed on the top edge and foot and the handles are more heavily decorated. It dates between 1945 - 1952 and on the bottom it is marked; Sango China - Made in Occupied Japan. Look for serving pieces in this pattern in my shop.
All 48 pieces are in very nice condition with minimal wear, no chips or cracks. The intensity of the cream band and flower colors varies on some of the pieces but does not appear to be from use or wear, I have tried to show a comparison in the photo with two saucers. One salad plate in particular has some dark rub marks which I have tried to show in the photo close-ups as well.
