Occupied Japan, Sango China Gravy Boat with Attached Drip Tray

This vintage porcelain piece is beautifully decorated with a colorful floral pattern similar to Dresden Rose and Dresdenia. The old gravy boat has a white ground which showcases the multi-colored flowers and the attached underplate has a pale cream band. The edges of the bowl and plate are embellished with a gold trim and the “handled” ends are more heavily decorated. It dates between 1945 - 1952 and on the bottom it is marked; Sango China - Made in Occupied Japan.

Look for other serving pieces in this pattern in my shop as well as a six piece place setting, service for 8.

The bowl measures about 7 5/8” in length, lip to lip and 4 ¾” wide. The under plate measures about 9 ½” in length and 6 1/8” wide. The measures about 3 1/8” at the highest point. It is in very good condition with minimal wear, no chips, cracks or other damage.
