Old Tobacco Tin - Portage Cigars

This vintage tin originally held fifty Straight Portage Cigars which were sold for five cents each. The counter display tin has a hinged lid which has the same advertising on the inside as has on the outside. There is a rotating metal tab on the back which could be turned so the lid would stand upright to make an eye catching display in a tobacco shop or country store. On the bottom is the factory information including the factory number 771 - First District - State of Pennsylvania.

It has good color and gloss but there are scratches and some paint wear, especially along the edges. The tin is light gauge so there are some dents and a few small wrinkles. It measures about 8 1/2" by 4 7/8" by 2 3/8" high.

The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
