Old, Japanese Tin, Friction Dump Truck

This vintage, tin dump truck must have been a fun toy to play with. It is made of tin and painted red and green with nice but simple detail. It has a tinted plastic front window, plated headlights, grill and bumper that reads; N58. The hard rubber tires with metal hubcaps are driven by the working friction motor although it doesn't take the truck far. The fun part is the dump bed which raises and lowers by the little crank on one side and the tail gate can be lifted to allow a load of dirt to be delivered. When the crank is turned to either raise or lower the bed a little bell rings. It is not marked anywhere that I can see but I believe it was made in Japan in the late 1950's or early 60's.

It is in nice condition with bright glossy paint. There are areas where the paint is worn, mostly along the edges of the dump bed and along the top left corner of the tailgate. The plating on the hubcaps is weak and worn but all four are present and original. It measures about 12 1/4" long by 4 7/8" wide and 5" high.
