This vintage celluloid wind-up is of a young couple embraced in a dance. They are made of a pink celluloid with painted features. The skirt of her dress is a deeper pink with light blue straps and she has a little pink bow in her hair. He wears a blue tuxedo with a small red bow tie. On his back it is marked, albeit quite blurry and appears to read; Made in Occupied Japan. The metal base they are attached to that holds the motor is marked in ink; Japan. They also come with the original cardboard box with a paper label the shows the Dancing Couple from overhead. It also has TM Tokyo Trade Mark and Directions. On the end of the box is a price tag from Thrifty with the original price of .29 Ea. or 4/1.00.
They measure about 4 ¾” tall and are in very nice, working condition with minimal wear. The colors are bright and un-faded. There is a slight trace of soiling on her face. The celluloid is in good condition with no damage although there is a side seam on her skirt which is slightly opened, I have shown a close-up of it in the photos. The box measures about 5” by 2 7/8” by 2 ¼” and is in generally good condition minor wear and a torn corner.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
