This vintage medal for the Broad Jump is made of a silver colored metal. On the front is a nicely detailed picture apt for a track and field event. It looks like three men in running stride. On the back it reads; Broad Jump - 20’ 9 ½” Lemp 1928. At the bottom it has the company name, The Robbins Co. Attleboro, Mass.. It hangs from a grosgrain ribbon that has a large safety pin attached to the top edge. It comes in a presentation box with the company name on the inside of the lid. Printed in pencil on the inside of the lid is information regarding the high hurdles. This came from an estate sale in Boise, Idaho.
The medal measures about 1 1/8” in diameter at the widest point of the irregular circle. It measures about 2 3/16” in overall length with the ribbon and it is in nice condition with light wear and discoloration to the medal and soiling to the ribbon.
The box is nice but I think the lid was originally attached to the bottom half. It measures about 2 ¼” by 3 ½” and still has its original blue velvet insert.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
