The slip on lid of this vintage phonograph needle tin has a nice depiction of the Taj Mahal of Arga, India. It reads; 200 Extra Loud - Taj Mahal Phonograph Needles. The background is lack and appropriately there is a crescent moon above the mausoleum. On the back it says; Superior Gramophone Needles Manufactured from Finest Quality Steel. It is partially full with approximately 100 steel needles, probably not the original needles but they appear to be new, never used, nonetheless. This type of steel needle is used for playing old 78 records.
It measures approximately 1 7/8" by 1 3/8" and is in nice condition with minor wear. The lid retains good gloss and has minor scratch and scuff wear. The gold of the sides and bottom is discolored and blotchy and the back is difficult to read. It would make a nice addition to a needle tin collection.
