This vintage doll is made of vinyl and would have been a delight to find under the Christmas tree. She has a sweet face and bright blue sleep eyes with lashes and wavy, golden saran type hair. She has jointed arms and legs and a swivel head. On the back of her neck it is marked AE-1405-6 and on her low back it reads; K16-5. She’s wearing, what I believe to be, her original panties and a cute flannel pajama outfit with striped candy sticks and Santa hats, trimmed in lace, that might have been home made. She’s also wearing a pair of soft plastic or vinyl shoes. I think she may have been made by a company called Allied Grand Doll Mfg. or Allied Imported of Brooklyn, N.Y. in the late 1950’s or early 60’s. This company often sold to smaller companies that marketed dolls under different names in department and grocery stores. Dressed as she is, she’d have been a little girls delight when found under the Christmas tree. She can wear clothes made for other 16” dolls like Terri Lee or Chatty Cathy.
She measures almost 16” tall and is in nice condition with minimal wear and soiling. Her hair is good but just slightly mussed. The pajama set is in fairly good condition with minimal wear. The pants are a little balled up more so than the top. The elastic on her panties is stretched out. The shoes are quite soiled.
