This vintage paper envelope still contains the lightweight cardboard Model Battleship, never assembled! The envelope has colorful graphics on the front and states; Realistic, 3 Dimensional - Perfect Miniature of the Real Thing. No cutting or pasting was needed for this easy to assemble toy. The original price was 10c, hence the name The Dime Line which was produced by Reed & Associates, Inc. of Chicago. The instruction on constructing your boat, complete with gun turrets is printed on the back. There is a single sheet, folded in half with all of the parts stamped, numbered and ready to punch out. I would guess that this was made in the 1940's.
The envelope measures about 10 1/8" by just under 7" and is in generally good condition. There are a few creases and some light edge wear with a small tear. The side seams are torn about 1 1/2" on the opened flap end. The cardboard insert measures about 8 3/4" by 6 5/8" as originally folded and opens to about 8 3/4" by 13 1/4". It is in good condition aside from a corner crease at the center fold as shown in the photo.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
