Old, Miniature Advertising Jug - Portland, Oregon

This vintage stoneware crock is not only an advertising piece but also a souvenir. It's a small jug with nice lines. The lower portion has a light speckled glaze and the top portion has a dark brown glaze. Stenciled on the front in blue it reads; Compliments of Pacific Stoneware Co. - Portland, Oregon. Glued to the bottom is an old piece of paper with the following typed in green ink; A souvenir of Lewis & Clark Exposition - given to Lovday Belz 1905 - Given to Ethyl Belz 1971. A nice bit of provenance to very handsome little jug.

It measures about 4 1/4" high and 2 11/16" in diameter at the base. It is in very good condition with minimal wear. There are two very, very tiny flakes off the bottom edge and one that is a little larger measuring less than 1/8" in diameter, see the photos. There is a little roughness around the edge where the crock tapers but this is all glazed over so it would appear that it was in the manufacturing and is not damaged. The handle is in tact and there are no cracks.

The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
