This vintage woodworking tool is a Stanley No.77 - New Britain Conn. U.S.A. as noted on the bottom edge of the block. It is made of rosewood with inlaid brass and brass hardware. The gauge has two brass adjusting thumb screws and three scribing points for layout work and the body has a 3” rule with 16th inch increments. I believe it is from the early 1900’s.
Overall it measures about 7 ½” in length to the end of the thumb screw. It is in generally good original condition with some nick and scuff wear from use. One area of the block is scarred up some as shown in the photos.
