This beautifully detailed old coin is a two peso piece that is apparently commemorating 100 years of the united states of Mexico. On one side is a woman generally referred to as Miss Liberty. She is scantly clad with only a sheer drape over her hips and legs. She has large wings and her hand is outstretched holding a wreath. It reads; Dos Pesos - 24 Gr Plata Pura which means it contains 24 grams (0.772 troy ounces) of pure silver. The reverse side has the iconic image of an eagle with a snake in its beak. The eagle appears to be perched upon a cactus plant. A wreath of sorts encircles the eagle and on the outer edge it reads; Estatos Unidos Mexicanos - MDCCCXXI - MCMXXI (1821 - 1921). Nex to the eagles head is a small circle like an “o” over an “M”.
The coin measures about 1 ½” in diameter and is in nice, circulated condition. It retains some detail but is worn, especially on the high spots. The edge has a few dents. This has not been graded.
