This old paper flyer looks like it might have been used as an insert in a soda fountain menu. Orville Jackson’s was a general store, pharmacy and soda fountain for nearly 100 years stocking its shelves with a little bit of everything as this handbill suggests. It has a list of 10c products like Fitch’s Shampoo, Johnson’s Baby Powder and Kleenex Tissue. There are definitions for farm medicines and a listing of items used by farmers, dairymen, poultry men and sheep men and some of the items include prices which is pretty interesting. The sheet also carries the store slogan which remains on the building, even today; You Can Always Get It at Orville Jackson’s - We Are Never Just Out.
The full page measures about 8 ¾” by 12” and is folded to a size of 6” by 8 ¾”. It is in generally good condition with some age discoloration and minor edge wear, mostly along the folded edge of the brittle paper.
