These three stemmed glasses were hand crafted by Alan & Brenda Newman under the name Newman Ceramic Works. The retired, calla lily goblets have a matte glaze pottery bowl and base with a frosted glass stem. The Newmans have been making beautiful, functional pottery pieces since 1978 using clay and glazes they have developed themselves.
On two of the glasses the exterior of the bowl is a bluish green glaze with a brown accent. They have a pale turquoise base. These two have the incised artist signature and are also marked- Newman Ceramic Works Albq., N.M. These were made between 1978 -1984 when the studio was still in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The other glass has a pale pink and light turquoise exterior glaze with a pale turquoise base. This has the incised artist signature and is also marked- Newman Ceramic Works Salem, Or. I believe this one was made in the late 1980’s through early 1990’s. This one ones with its original paper hang tag.
They vary slightly but the bowls measure about 3 ¼” in diameter and the bases measure about 2 5/8” in diameter and they measure about 7 3/8” high. They are all in very good condition with no damage.
The colors are slightly more subtle than the pictures show, especially the pink one in the first pictures. Priced and sold as the group of three (3).
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
