This piece of pottery appears to be an older piece from the Tonala area of Mexico. The duck like bird is subtly decorated in muted earth tone glazes with a hand painted floral design on its back. It is a thin glaze over the grayish clay. On the bottom there is a firing air hole. I see no signature or other identifying marks. There is the residue of a paper sticker on the bottom.
It measures about 9” in length and 4 3/4” wide across the body and about 6” high. It is in nice condition with minimal scratch wear and paint loss.
