Old, Blue Ridge, Leaf Celery Dish - Floral Pattern

This is a vintage piece from Southern Potteries, Inc of Erwin, Tennessee. It is called a Leaf Celery from the obvious fact that it is shaped like a leaf. I believe this is the Chintz pattern a multitude of colorful flowers. In 1945 Blue Ridge came out with a line of about 40 pieces that were; fine quality vitreous chinaware. This is one of those pieces indicated by the mark on the back. It has the script mark that reads; Blue Ridge China - Hand Painted - Underglaze - Southern Potteries, Inc. - Made in U.S.A..

It measures about 10 3/4" by 6 5/8” by and 2 3/4" high at the handle. It is in very good condition with minimal wear. It appears there are chips along the raised ring on the bottom but under magnification it looks like the glaze line along the edge would indicate this was in the manufacturing. It also appears that there is a small flake off the bottom edge but it is a factory flaw that was glazed over.
