Old Half Doll - Flapper Girl with Tennis Racket

This vintage, hand painted, porcelain half doll has beautiful facial detail and character. She appears to be wearing an off the shoulder, lavender shawl over a pale green under garment, not your average tennis attire. Her dark brown, bobbed hair is restrained with a pale green headband that is tied on the side. She’s holding the tennis racquet to her right shoulder and she has, perhaps, a brown tennis ball in her left hand. On the flared base that would be sewn to a pincushion it is incised with a number on the front and on the back it reads; Made in Germany. On the inside of the base it is stamped with the number 12.

It measures about 4” tall to the top of the racquet and about 2 ¾” wide across at her elbows and the base measures about 1 ¼” in diameter. She is very nice condition with minimal wear and no damage. There is a scratch to the paint on her bangs.
