This vintage hammer was made by E.C. Atkins & Company. The head of the hammer is cast steel and is marked Atkins No4. One end has a round, flat face and the other end is a regular, slightly tapered, round face. The head is attached to a hardwood handle and secure with crossed wedges. This tool was apparently used for fine tuning crosscut saws.
It measures about 8 3/4” long and the head measures about 4 1/8” across. The faces measures about 1 5/8” in diameter. It weighs a little over 15oz. Overall it is in good, used condition. The handle has some stains and discoloration but is not split or damaged.
