Old Phonograph Needle Tin - Golden Pyramid

This unusual vintage tin, from the early 1900’s, once held 200 steel needles used to play 78 records on wind up phonographs like Victors. It is obvious by the shape and color of this tin why it is called the Golden Pyramid and the name is embossed on opposing sides. On those sides is also a raised blue shield that reads; Talking Machine Needles. On the other two sides the raised blue shield reads; 200 Medium, and below that it reads; Tilt Gently. On the bottom it explains that by gently tilting the tin a single needle would protrude from the hole in the top which could then be removed with your fingers. This was from The British Needle Company Limited of Redditch, England and came in four tones.

It is in very nice condition showing minimal wear. The gold is bright and has good gloss. There is some discoloration along the edges and around the bottom. It measures about 2 1/2" tall by 1 5/8" square.
