Old, Lowell Spray Atomizer Tin with Green Glass Bottle

This is a vintage sprayer/duster that could have been used for spraying insecticide, fungicide, disinfectant or deodorant. The pump sprayer tin has a thin, metallic paint finish and is attached to the metal lid that screws onto the green glass canister. It has a wooden handle and cap at the back end. The glass jar is marked Made in U.S.A. along with several numbers. The sprayer was made by the Root-Lowell Corp. of Chicago. It is a smaller size that would have probably been used in the kitchen or such to exterminate flies and other household pests.

The metal canister portion measures about 8 3/8” long, end to end, or 10 ¼” from depressed handle to nozzle end. The glass jar measures about 3” in diameter and it measures about 4 ¼” high from the bottom of the jar to the top edge of the tin cylinder. It is in fairly good condition with some scuffs and scratches on the painted tin and a few small dents. The metal cap on the jar has some discoloration and a small area of light rust. The glass is undamaged.
