Old, German Candy Container - Sailor in a Pickle Boat

You've heard of being in a pickle? This vintage candy container brings that saying to life with a funny looking boy with a wide smile and beady little eyes. He's dressed in what looks like sailor blues, including the hat, and appears to be sitting in a small boat made of a pickle (or maybe a melon). It is made of a composition material and has a cardboard sleeve in the bottom. There are no markings but I believe it was made in Germany in the early 1900's.

It measures about 3 3/8" tall and 3" long and is in fairly nice condition. The paint is in fairly good condition but is slightly soiled.

The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
