This sterling coin is from a series of art ingots which were put out by the Hamilton Mint called The Countries of the World. This is the ingot for Naura. On one side it has the image of several people with beautiful detail. The opposing side is a man with a couple of birds in flight in the foreground. Along the edge it is marked STERLING. It also has 4 small circles. In the first is the letter C or G. Next is a joined HM, I assume for Hamilton Mint. The next one has the number 77 which is probably the year it was minted and the last one has the letter P. It was purchased from the mint during the late 1970's or early 1980's. Each ingot in the series came with a 3 1/2" by 6" sheet of paper with statistics and a history of the country. This ingot comes enclosed in its original plastic capsule and the fact sheet.
It measures 1" in diameter and weighs approximately 6.9 dwt. or 10.7 grams. It has minor discoloration, primarily around the lower outer edge of the front and has never been handled without gloves or cleaned.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
