This vintage, figural cookie jar depicts a young Davy Crockett with baby like facial features. His name is written on the gun stock he holds between his feet. It is one of several versions produced in 1956. It was made by the Brush Pottery Company of Roseville, Ohio and is simply marked USA on the bottom which is typical of many of the Brush cookie jars.
It measures about 10 1/2" high and is in very good condition with no chips cracks or other damage. There are some irregular "globs" on the bottom along the inside rim edge. These were heavy glaze drips that were knocked off during manufacturing and are not damage to the jar. There is also dark crazing on the bottom only and not on the rest of the jar as you can see in the photos.
