Old Ceramic Ashtray with Funny Figure

This vintage ashtray looks like a barrel with an odd fellow playing a golden horn instrument straddled across the top. He has a very round head with simple, painted features. He's dressed in bright blue and orange with an angular form and big black shoes. Between his outstretched legs is the indent for a cigarette. On the bottom it is stamped; Made in Japan. I believe it is from the 1950's.

It measures about 4 1/2" tall and the bottom of the barrel measures about 2 ¼" in diameter. It is in very nice condition with minimal wear, no chips or other damage.
