This is a vintage Easter Greeting by Western Union with its original matching envelope. At the top of the telegram is a drawing of a gnome trying to arouse the sleeping Easter bunny to paint the pile of uncolored eggs. Below the design it reads; Created by Norman Rockwell. I believe there were four holiday telegrams designed by Rockwell for Western Union in the mid to late 1930's. The others, I believe, were Valentines Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. The message indicates it is a greeting to a mother from her son. The telegram is folded to fit into the matching envelope that has a 1938 copyright date on it. The design on the telegram is quite colorful but on the envelop only three colors were used so it appears muted.
The telegram measures about 5 ¾" by 8" and is in very nice condition other than the original folds and a little scuff or soiling in the area above the bunny. The envelope measures about 3 5/8" by 6 7/16". The right end of the envelope was cut off to open it which left the envelope in good condition.
