This is a wonderful, vintage set of nesting eggs with an obvious springtime theme with lots of flowers and green grass. The largest egg which measures about 4 ½" by 7" has a wooly white lamb pulling a small cart. Decorated Easter eggs abound and a couple of little yellow chicks play on and around the cart. Inside that egg is another egg that measures about 3 ½" by 6". A couple of brown bunnies are hugging in front of a great old spoke wheeled car that is full of dyed Easter eggs. In the foreground are little chicks cheering them on. The next egg measures about 3" by 4 3/8" and is quite colorful with an abundance of flowers, three baby chicks wearing hats and a bunny watching the chicken parade. The smallest of the eggs looks like it has a student bunny sitting at his desk and a teacher bunny at the chalk board. The chicks seem to just be having fun and not learning a thing. This egg measures about 2 3/8" by 3 ½" and could hold a nice big handful of jelly beans. The inside of each egg has a patterned liner with chickens and chicks and bunnies and decorated eggs. The edge of each egg is trimmed with a scalloped paper edging. I find no country of origin but would assume these to be from Western Zone Germany.
Overall they are in very nice condition with good gloss, bright colors and minimal wear. The inside edges are worn on some from being opened and closed and some of the scalloped edging is torn with a few small areas missing.
