Old Silver Plate, Sugar Shell with Delicate Lyonnaise Pattern

This is a vintage, silverplated sugar shell with a gold wash in the bowl. The pattern is an early design with a Victorian feel. The upper panel of the handle has several flowers that resemble daisies. There is a decorative band and then a section with a long tailed bird, a partial circle with emitting rays and some faint little flowers that look like hollyhocks and then another decorative band. The pattern was first produced in 1879 by Holmes & Edwards but has apparently been manufactured over the years by companies such as International Silver, Toronto, Aurora and James W. Tufts and is also known as Eastlake. The bowl is notched on the sides and has a gold wash on the inside. The back is hallmarked Holmes & Edwards - 5oz. and Pat. June 29, 80..

It measures about 5 3/4" long and is in very good condition with minimal wear. The plating is still in good condition.
