These little boxes are Austin Art, Character Make-Up Kits and could have been used for Halloween, children's plays and dress-up fun. Each box has a clown face on the front with the contents and directions on the back. One edge has character faces and the other edge reads; Professional and Amateur Use. One box is for a Ghost and has a plastic container of white grease paint and a black liner stick wrapped in foil. The other is for an Indian and has reddish brown grease paint and with a matching colored liner stick. These were manufactured for Austin Art Studios of Omaha Nebraska and are probably from the 1940's or 50's.
The boxes measures about 1 3/4" by 2 1/8" and are in fairly good condition with might edge wear and soiling. The grease paint containers measure about 1 ½" in in diameter by ½" and both have most of their original product. The liner sticks are both opened and have had some use.
Priced and sold as the pair.
