This vintage plate is an attractive souvenir of Plymouth. It is done in the style and colors reminiscent of what is often referred to as the flow black but is actually a transfer design with broad stroke colors that appear to have bled. It has four different highlights; the majestic ship The Mayflower, the National Monument to the Forefathers, Massasoit Indian Chief and of course Plymouth Rock. The edge is enhanced with a decorative detail pine cones and fir branches. On the back is a small paper label that reads; Made in Japan and it is stamped under glaze; Use for Ornament. There is no hanging device on the back but would display nicely on a plate shelf or used with a plate hanger.
It measures almost 9 1/2" in diameter and is in good condition with some crazing to the glaze but no other damage.
