This vintage celluloid wind up toy is of a young couple on ice skates. They have their right legs raised and embrace each other as the glide effortlessly on their "skates". When wound they move forward then spin around and change direction continuing this action until they run down. She is dressed in a pinkish red dress with a blue bow in her hair. He wears an all white outfit except for the tiny blue tie. The back of his pants are marked but it is quite blurry. It appears to read; Made in Occupied Japan Patent. The metal base they are attached to that holds the motor is marked in ink; Japan.
They measure about 5 1/4" tall and are in very nice working condition with minimal wear. There is a slight trace of soiling on her face. The celluloid is in good condition with no damage. There is a tiny hole wear her leg joins her skirt but this appears to be what is known as a manufacturing "blow hole" and not damage.
