This vintage ceramic penny bank has a large dog that look a lot like a poodle standing in front of a dog house. On the roof of the doghouse is a miniature dog. Both dogs are painted blue and brown and are wearing yellow hats and red bows. The red, black and yellow are hand painted over the fired glaze. On right side of the roof is a 1 3/8" coin slot. The bottom has a 1 ¼" diameter hole that would have taken a rubber plug. It is marked; Japan, probably from the 1950's or 60's.
It measures about 6 1/4" to the top of the puppy's head and the base measures about 3 ¾" by 3 ¾". It is in basically good condition with minor wear to the painted areas and no chips or cracks. Most of the black is worn from the nose and the toes of the big dog.
