Old, Celluloid Advertising Blotter - Reliable Meats - Great Graphics

This vintage, celluloid covered ink blotter is very nice. It is advertising Reliable Meat Products of the Kingan Provision Co. of New York and Indianapolis. The skipper of a sailboat, dressed in his yellow rain gear, seems to have a crew of fat pigs including one at the bow of the boat who appears to be saluting. The sea is rough and the sky is stormy on this beautifully detailed blotter. By the message on the front and the holly trim this was probably sent as a Christmas greeting. A celluloid covered button paper fastener holds the three blotter pages together with the celluloid cover. There are a total of three blotter sheets including the back page. It appears to have a 1905 copyright by the Whitehead & Hoag Company in the lower right hand corner.

It measures about 7 5/8" by 3 1/16". The celluloid is in very nice condition with minimal wear. The blotter sheets have a little edge wear and the back sheet has a few ink stains.
