This pink pig playing a flute was made by the Schafer and Vater company of Germany. It is a two piece covered jar separating at the waist. The front reads; Pig 'n Whistle and some say these items were souvenir pieces from the Pig 'n Whistle restaurant in Hollywood in the 1920's. The plump pig has a great deal of character in his facial expression and looks like he might be dancing a jig while playing his whistle. On the bottom is the S & V crown mark along with a four digit number.
It measures about 5 3/16" high and the base is about 2 1/2" by 2 3/8" and is in very nice condition with minor wear. There is one small flake off the right ear (see photo).
