The cover of this booklet has a paned window which is cut out so you can see the family scene inside. The scene on the inside page is of mom and dad being awakened by the joy of the two children. This is an L-M Christmas Book and it is filled with time tested prose and poetry that reflect the joys and spirit of Christmas. "When Father Shook the Stove" by Edgar A. Guest, "The Gift of the Magi" by O. Henry, "Donder, Blitzen and Boppy" by Edmund Ware, an excerpt from Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" and "Snippen's Dilemma" by Edna & Howard Hong, these a just a few of the short stories and poems included in the 32 page, large format, softbound booklet. The words for 8 Christmas songs are also included in the back. This was apparently a gift of sorts, given by the Line Material company which I believe was originally in Milwaukee where they dealt in street lighting devices and components in the early 1900's. The bow on the front cover reads; Merry Christmas 1947 and on the back cover it reads; Happy New Year 1948.
It measures about 11" by 11 ½" and is in lightly used condition. The inside pages are slightly yellowed with age and otherwise good with minor edge and corner wear. The cover shows more shelf wear with corner wear and very small tears. The overall book is slightly curled as shown in the pictures and I have not tried to flatten it out in any way.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
