This is fun pair of vintage glasses like you would have found in a gag shop in the late 1950's or early 1960's. The frame is made of plastic typical of the period. The lenses are made like the old flicker rings so they change image when viewed at different angles. There is a small hole in the center of each lens so the wearer can see out. The back side of the lenses are cardboard identifying them as Vari-Vue with patent numbers dating these to 1958. They come in their original box which displayed them and allowed the buyer to see them in action without taking them out of the box. As the box states; Wear a Pair - Have Fun - Wink! Blink! Twink! They were manufactured by the Franco American company of New York.
The glass measure about 5" across at the hinges. The ear piece measure about 4" from the hinge to the bend with a total length of about 5". They are in good condition with a slight cupped warp at the center. The box measures about 5 ½" by 2 5/8" by almost 1" and is great for the graphics but it has several tears.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
