This vintage box contains Watkins Pure Fruit Pectin by The J.R. Watkins Company. On the front of the box is a housewife looking over the jelly she has just finished putting up. On the back are recipes for jellies, jams and marmalades with information about using pectin on the other panels. Inside are 4 1oz packets of the pectin, all unopened, with directions for use. Include also are two little paper pamphlets with recipes and helpful hints. Although I don't find a date of this I would assume it to be from the late 1920's or 30's.
The box measures about 3 3/8" by 5 1/8" by 1 1/8" and is in nice condition with minor wear. It has light scuffs and some edge wear and is slightly bulged from its contents. It has one corner that looks as though it has been gnawed by a critter. Overall it is an unusual Watkins collectible.
