Old Thermometer with Town Crier Figure

This old bell ringer looks like it's made of carved wood but is probably made of a composition material referred to as Syroco. The material is a combination of a wood compound and casting fluids that were poured into molds. This one looks like an old Puritan town crier with his decree in one hand and his bell in the other. To his side on what appears to be a cobblestone wall is a metal house thermometer with a plastic face. The whole figure is nicely detail and mostly wood colored with the exception of the painted hat, bell, paper and shoe buckles.

It measures about 4 1/8" high and the base measures about 4 ½" by 2 1/8". The thermometer measures about 2" in diameter. It is in very good condition with minimal minor wear and the thermometer appears to be fairly accurate.
