This vintage ice cream dipper was manufactured by the H.S. Geer Company of Troy N.Y., marked as such on the shank. It is made of nickel plated brass with a wood handle. It is a number 10 round bowl (ten scoops to the quart). The thumb lever is marked " PAT. APD. FOR" and the patent was issued on February 4, 1913.
The mechanism works well and it is in good original condition but does show some wear. There is some brass showing through in a few places but only minimally. The shank has nicks from being rapped against ice cream carton edges. The finish on the handle is almost a maroon color showing some wear but not abuse.
