This vintage, hardbound recipe book includes "treasured recipes of six decades" was designed as an all-purpose cook book for beginner and expert. It includes menus, recipes and handy tips. The recipes cover the gamut with appetizers, beverages, main dishes of many kinds, breads, soups, salads, desserts and much more. There are basics for canning, freezing, entertaining and kitchen organization plus charts and other useful information. This hardbound edition has 535 pages including the index. This is a Fifth Printing with a 1965 copyright by The Settlement Cook Book Co. and was published by Simon & Schuster of New York. It comes with its original dust jacket.
It measures about 7 ½" by 9 ½" by 1 ½" and is in good condition with minimal wear. The pages are basically crisp and clean with minimal edge soiling and a tight spine. The linen covered hardbound cover shows very minimal edge wear. The dust cover is in fairly nice condition but it does have creases, tears and edge wear and light soiling. The upper right corner of the back of the jacket has been mended with scotch tape.
