This is a vintage cookie or biscuit jar with a cute animal theme. At first I thought the head on the lid was that of a gray mouse with a ruffled collar but the more I looked at it and the three dancing figures on the front of the base I decided maybe they were bears. Either way, they are very cute with side glancing eyes, pink polka dotted ties and black hats. Above the trio are musical notes suggesting the music they are dancing to. The wicker handle that is wrapped with a pink plastic lace slips over the large flowers that are applied to the sides of the base. The bottom it is stamped; Japan and I believe this is from the late 1950's or 60's. Inside is the name; Kim. It appears like ink was carefully applied and was absorbed into the crazing. This does not go through to the backside of the cookie jar.
It measures about 8 1/2" to the top of the raised handle and about 7 ½" high to the top of the hat. The base measures about 4 ½" by 4 7/8". It is crazed but in otherwise good condition with minimal wear. There is a "stress" crack on the top edge of the collar which would appear to be from manufacturing which I have shown in the photos.
