This vintage, galvanized steel can with its original paper label on the front could have been used for gasoline, oil or kerosene. It has a painted band at the top and bottom edge and a partial paper label on the front that, were it complete would read; United States Steel Products - USS - Trade Mark BOYCO - Los Angeles Alameda - Division United States Steel Corporation. There is also a number 1 which would probably indicate that this is a one gallon can. Near the label in grease pencil appears to be the original price of $1.65. It has a domed top with a filler hole and the pouring spout, both with their original screw on caps. The bail has a simple wood handle.
It measures just over 7 ½" in diameter and about 8" to the top of the spout. It is in good condition with no holes in the metal. There are smudges of green and white paint and the handle has paint residue as well. The spout is discolored, there is a light amount of surface rust on the two caps and the paper label shows wear with parts torn off.
