This is a vintage, hardbound book by Emilie Poulsson on the art of finger play, a simple sign language used to tell stories to young children. The pages are beautifully illustrated with pictures and hand positions for telling the wonderful little stories. There is also music, composed by Cornelis C. Roeske for the stories. There are 80 pages with stories like The Lambs, All For Baby and Santa Claus. Although there is an 1893 copyright date by D. Lothrop Co., this edition has a 1921 copyright by Emilie Poulsson.
It measures about 7 1/2" by 9 7/16" by just over ½" and is in good generally condition. The linen covered hardback shows some edge wear, discoloration and soiling and has a very slight cupping. The inside pages are basically crisp and clean with a tight sewn spine.
The pictures are not shown at actual size. Please refer to the description for actual measurements.
