Old Indian Tom-Tom Mailer

This little drum is a vintage souvenir mailer. The tomtom is made of cardboard with a rubber skin strapped to the top and bottom. The top portion has a painted design and both ends are stamped; Japan. Attached to the lacing is an old mailing card so it could be mailed just like a postcard. One side is for the stamp and address and the other side has a cute poem. It is addressed and dated 1957 but there is no affixed stamp.

The drum1 7/8" high and 1 5/8" in diameter and is in good condition with minor wear to the rubber and frayed edges on the lacing. The mailing label measures about 3 1/4" by 1 5/8" and has edge wear.
